Why turn-based RPGs still rule the phone

Real-time combat looks great in trailers, but on a phone it fights against you. Fingers cover the screen, latency creeps in, and half the tension gets lost. Turn-based systems just sit better in the palm of your hand.

Games like Emberfall Saga prove the point. You can pause, think, and plan a full turn while waiting for a kettle to boil, then put the phone down without losing anything.

The trick with a good mobile RPG is depth without menu overload. The best ones give you meaningful choices but keep the tapping count low per decision.

If you've been avoiding the genre because it feels 'slow', try one on a commute. Slow is a feature when your attention is already split.
